Concrete Slabs laid in a Sand Bed:

An effective and economical solution can be achieved by using paving slabs laid in a bed of sand.
Paving slabs are available in a variety of colours and finishes from almost every Home worker- and DIY market. Even when the paving slabs are firmly and evenly stamped down in a bed of sand we would still recommend the use of the Biohort Floor Frame (attention: please ensure that a plastic-sheet is placed underneath the sand to protect against rising damp).

Preparation Work
		1. Earth is removed from the erection site (lawn or soil) to a depth of roughly 5 cm. (Floor Frame size plus desired all round clearance).  Where the ground is uneven or the shed is to be erected into a slope or hillside, sufficient compensation must be made in  advance to ensure a level foundation.
		2. Plastic sheet should be laid out and the foundation pit filled to within 3 cm of the top edge of the pit with fine gravel. (Depth of the concrete slabs should be at least 4 cm).
		3. The gravel should be evenly distributed throughout the pit.  The concrete slabs may now be laid in the gravel and levelled with with the aid of a spirit level and a rubber mallet.
